"Double Eagle Door Knocker"
The double eagle head of this door knocker was forged from one piece of 1" solid square bar. The plumage was hand chiseled.
The wood background was made from heart pine lumber salvaged from a barn in Pike County. The red color was original to the barn and the white and blue were color matched after much trial and error. The woodwork was done by fellow metalworker Mark Vaughn, who also did the photography.
The double eagle heads signify our nations strength and vision.
The arrow head at the bottom is a reminder that with freedom comes the responsibility to defend it and the power to do it.
It is dedicated to those who risk their lives for our freedom.
